Questions… (Why have you done this?)

My previous post adressed the primary question posed to me by those who experience my work.  This question being:
“What does it mean?”
Having aswered that, the second question, almost invariably is:
“What is it, and why have you done it?”
(And no, I couldn’t possibly have lifted this response from an application to a certain funding body that [...]

Questions…

This last week, my work has been subjected to the delighted musings, scowling glares and vacant expressions that commonly accompany the art that I produce.
And so, for anyone who is interested in my responses to the common questions I have been asked, I have written down the answers.  Not in order to inform or educate, [...]

Video Of Strange Earth

This is a fragment of my work here.  The whole piece is over 20 minutes long, but in this clip, I have included two of my favourite sections.
(It looks best if you view in HD – visit the YouTube page by clicking on the logo in the bottom right-hand corner).

Stepping Over

Stepping Over

Pansori Lullaby

So, I have been pretty lame this week, not posting much at all.
But I have been incredibly productive, considering I have also been trying to spend as much time with Nathan before he goes (TOMORROW!).
After cancelling our performance of Nok Cha Cafe Friday night due to a storm (which actually ended up clearing and leaving [...]

Lesson 4: Man Chom Cheong San

I feel dreadful. Nathan has given me some kind of headache/neck/ache/depressed virus. I was going to be productive today, I really was.
I had my fourth lesson, my teacher has decided it’s time for me to learn a new piece.  This one makes Sarangga sound like ‘Three Blind Mice’.
First, I’ll post the video demonstration by Oh [...]

Lesson 3: Problems with “이” (“E”)

I had my third Pansori lesson on Friday, and tomorrow morning is my fourth.  I have hit a bit of a wall.  It’s not that I have advanced as far as I can go (heaven forbid), but after my last lesson I came away with an overwhealming feeling of uselessness, and that it was all [...]

It’s Over… (COMP)

Oh dear, it’s over.
Crossing Of Movements Project turned out to be quite the success.  We had about 100 people crammed into the various spaces in the Total Art Museum, which made for an interesting time.
Stayed out late last night, having a yarn, you know.
But now, we are going to get breakfast.

Things that went wrong today:

This is the day before our performance of the Modern Dance Festival Showcase is scheduled to open.
I had to stay up till 2am to hang out my washing, because I do not know how to make the cycle less than 90 minutes.
Consequently, I overslept.
I was not organised or motivated enough to get ready to leave [...]

www.jeremah.tk

For the last couple of days I have been fiddling with Daniel Eatock and Jeffery Vaska’s simple, but powerful tool, indexhibit.

A web application used to build and maintain an archetypal, invisible website format that combines text, image, movie and sound.

Along with a couple of other tools like, a free webhost, url masking and embedded code, [...]
